A century of great earthquakes

Every M7+ earthquake since 1900 from the USGS catalog: 1,618 events, 108 of them M8 or larger. Ring-of-fire choreography, per-chapter time windows, pulsing highlights on the four M9s (Kamchatka 1952, Valdivia 1960, Alaska 1964, Sumatra 2004, Tōhoku 2011) and a final chapter that extrudes magnitude into 3D columns.

Where meteorites fall

32,186 located meteorites from NASA's Meteorite Landings catalog. A density heatmap of every find, the difference between a witnessed fall and a find, a numbered tour of the six heaviest irons from Hoba to Willamette, the 1970s to 2000s harvest in the deserts, and the 22,099 stones recovered on Antarctic blue ice.
