Embed an interactive map on your website
Embedding a Spatly surface is one line of HTML. Drop a script tag with the surface's public id and the map mounts where the tag sits, on any website or CMS that lets you paste HTML. The embed is a real interactive map, not a screenshot: it pans, zooms, filters and, for an Insight Container, expands from a compact card into the full workspace in a drawer.
The loader posts messages your page can listen to. It reports spatly:ready when the map is up, spatly:resize with its content height so the frame grows to fit, spatly:expand when a reader opens the insights, and spatly:select when they click a feature. The card below is a live Insight Container embedded on this page through the same script tag shown underneath it.
Insight Containers are built to travel: a mini map, a few KPIs and one line of text that open into a dashboard or a story section. Place one on your marketing page, in your docs, or inside your own app, and it stays live from its source.

How to embed an interactive map on your website
- Step 1
Publish the surface
Publish a map, story, dashboard or Insight Container. Public and unlisted surfaces are embeddable; you can restrict an embed to specific domains.
- Step 2
Paste one script tag
Copy the snippet with the public id into your page. The map mounts in place, resizes to its content and needs no build step.
- Step 3
Listen for events
Subscribe to spatly:ready, spatly:resize, spatly:expand and spatly:select through the window.Spatly API to react in your own page.
Bring the data you already have
Spatly ingests it into PostGIS, samples the fields for ramps and categories, and serves GeoJSON or vector tiles depending on size. Every source keeps its refresh policy, cache and health.
Embed this exact surface
Paste one script tag into any page. The map mounts where the tag sits, resizes to its content, and needs no build step.
<script src="https://spatly.io/embed.js" data-spatly="G9P5cdBirt" data-height="420"></script>
Posts spatly:ready, spatly:resize, spatly:expand and spatly:select. Embed docs
Good to know
- How do I embed a Spatly map?
- Paste one script tag with the surface's public id into your page. The map mounts where the tag sits, resizes to its content, and needs no build step.
- Does the embed resize itself?
- Yes. The loader posts spatly:resize with the content height and the frame grows to fit, so there is no fixed-height scrollbar.
